Chi siamo
Chez Thésse è un'associazione culturale che opera nel campo del teatro e del cinema indipendente. Nata a Genova, con lo scopo di produrre spettacoli teatrali, cortometraggi, lungometraggi e documentari creando sinergie tra diversi artisti che prestano la propria opera in diverse discipline.
Per quanto riguarda la produzione cinematografica, i prodotti di questo collettivo hanno ottenuto riconoscimenti in molti festival nazionali e internazionali.
Chi siamo
Rosaspina è un laboratorio artistico composto da un team di giovani professionisti del settore audiovisivo. Affonda le sue radici a Genova, in Liguria, ma conta nel suo organico elementi provenienti da tutta Italia e punta alla diffusione nazionale dei propri prodotti audiovisivi.

Artefix è un'associazione culturale che opera nel campo prevalentemente cinematografico. La sua peculiarità consiste nell'essere stata creata da giovani per i giovani, offrendo loro mezzi e competenze per la realizzazione di progetti e il perseguimento di obiettivi in campo artistico.
Obiettivi
Il nostro Festival vuole creare un luogo in cui il Cinema possa essere motivo di interazione, di incontro e scambio di idee e progettualità, di accrescimento della propria cultura cinematografica attraverso interviste aperte al pubblico ai professionisti del settore.
Un luogo in cui pensare ad una soluzione ai problemi sociali che attanagliano la nostra società.
Tutto ciò offrendo e promuovendo progetti con un contenuto artistico rilevante, capaci di sviluppare coscienza critica e contribuire alla crescita culturale del giovane pubblico.
Il Teatro
Il Teatro San Giovanni Battista, sede del Festival Internazionale del Cinema di San Giovanni, si trova a Genova, nel quartiere di Sestri Ponente. Apre i battenti nel 1950 e da quell'anno le gestioni che si sono succedute sono state impegnate costantemente nella divulgazione della cultura teatrale nel quartiere, con la creazione di laboratori, eventi e rassegne, e nella proiezione di pellicole cinematografiche, tanto da guadagnarsi l'appellattivo di Teatro - Cinema.
Ultimamente, ha ospitato eventi di livello, come lo spettacolo "Indagine su Alda Merini", dedicato alla poetessa scomparsa nel 2009, che ha per protagonista Giorgia Trasselli, per la regia di Antonio Nobili. Consta di 300 posti a sedere, con possibilità di ampio parcheggio per coloro che vengono ad assistere alle rappresentazioni.

Attore e regista teatrale e cinematografico.
Nel 2018, fonda il collettivo artistico Chez Thésse, con il quale inizia la produzione di cortometraggi, che lo portano ad ottenere riconoscimenti in campo nazionale e internazionale nei festival di settore.
Lucia Vita
Attrice teatrale e cinematografica ed acting coach.
Si forma all'Accademia Teatrale Paolo Grassi di Milano. Vincitrice della menzione d'onore per l'interpretazione come miglior attrice nella serie tv "Richiesta d'amicizia" all'Apoxiomeno International Film Festival (2022).

Regista cinematografico e fotografo.
Con "Nea[r]" (2020), il suo primo cortometraggio vince numerosi riconoscimenti nei festival nazionali ed internazionali del settore, approdando sulla piattaforma Amazon Prime.
Loris Abrignani
Regista e sceneggiatore cinematografico.
Membro fondatore del collettivo Rosaspina, con il quale sviluppa progetti audiovisivi. “Rêuza” (2020) è il suo primo cortometraggio indipendente completamente autoprodotto, che fa parte della raccolta “Poems” su Amazon Prime Video.

Alessandro Cabras
Regista cinematografico emergente.
Presidente e fondatore di Artefix, inizia a muovere i primi passi nel mondo dell'audiovisivo collaborando con Chez Thésse come assistente alla regia.
Nel 2023 dirige il suo primo lungometraggio.
Michele Pedemonte
Musicista.
Proveniente da una formazione classica, collabora con Chez Thésse dal 2021 come compositore ed esecutore di colonne sonore per cortometraggi. É un membro dei Simon Dietzsche, storico gruppo dell'underground genovese e tra i primi esponenti della New Wave italiana.
Regolamento
Il Festival Internazionale del Cinema di San Giovanni è organizzato dalle Associazioni culturali Chez Thésse, Rosaspina e Artefix, tutte operanti nel settore del Cinema indipendente, in sinergia con il Teatro San Giovanni Battista di Genova. A queste tre organizzazioni, si aggiungono altre associazioni, enti e sponsor.
Obiettivi:
Il Festival si prefigge l’obiettivo di creare un luogo dove il Cinema possa essere motivo di interazione tra i giovani, di incontro e scambio di idee e progettualità tra i partecipanti, di accrescimento della propria cultura cinematografica attraverso interviste aperte al pubblico ai professionisti del settore e dove si possa pensare ad una risoluzione dei problemi sociali che attanagliano la società. Tutto ciò offrendo e promuovendo lavori con un contenuto artistico rilevante, capaci di sviluppare coscienza critica e contribuire alla crescita culturale del giovane pubblico.

B. Lotta al bullismo: categoria internazionale di cortometraggi sulla lotta al bullismo;
C. Lotta alla violenza sulle donne: categoria internazionale di cortometraggi sulla lotta alla violenza sulle donne;
D. Lotta all’omofobia: categoria internazionale di cortometraggi sulla lotta all’omofobia;
E. Lotta ai disturbi alimentari: categoria internazionale di cortometraggi sulla lotta ai disturbi alimentari;
F. Libero: categoria internazionale di cortometraggi a tema libero (commedia, avventura, thriller, Sci – Fi, romantico);
G. Animazione tema libero: categoria internazionale di cortometraggi d’animazione a tema libero (commedia, avventura, thriller,
Sci – Fi, romantico);
H. Animazione temi sociali: categoria internazionale di cortometraggi d’animazioni sui temi descritti nelle categorie A, B, C, D, E;
I. Trenta: categoria internazionale di cortometraggi e documentari i cui registi abbiano compiuto trent’anni o siano al di sotto dei trent’anni di età;
J. Documentari: categoria internazionale di documentari sui temi sociali descritti nelle categorie A, B, C, D, E.
I cortometraggi e i documentari devono avere una durata massima di venti minuti, titoli di testa e di coda compresi.
I formati utili per la proiezione sono: MP4, AVI, MPEG (con spedizione del file, solo in caso di ammissione alla selezione ufficiale, via Wetransfer o altri siti simili al seguente indirizzo di posta elettronica: chezthesse@gmail.com) o DVD (con spedizione dello stesso al seguente indirizzo: Via Priano 7 / 2, 16153, Sestri Ponente, Genova).
Alle categorie A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H e J sono ammessi, come partecipanti, collettivi di studenti composti dalle scuole medie e superiori italiane e straniere (middle school e high school). Le pellicole devono essere create dagli studenti, in sinergia con gli insegnanti e con maestranze del settore cinematografico chiamate a collaborare con gli istituti.

3. Selezione delle opere
Condizioni di ammissione alla selezione.
Il Festival si terrà a Genova dal 4 al 18 Maggio 2024. Verranno prese in esame le opere prodotte negli anni 2022/2023. Possono essere presentate opere già selezionate precedentemente ad altri festival. Per la preselezione, la data ultima di invio materiale tramite piattaforma Filmfreeway è il 28 Febbraio 2024. L’iscrizione dovrà avvenire obbligatoriamente tramite suddetta piattaforma, inserendo tutti i dati richiesti e procedendo all’upload del film.

La selezione delle opere avverrà a giudizio insindacabile della Direzione Artistica, che provvederà a comunicare gli esiti finali alle produzioni/distribuzioni dei film selezionati entro e non oltre il 21 Marzo 2024. A comunicazione avvenuta, sarà premura delle produzioni/ distribuzioni dei film selezionati inviare a chezthesse@gmail.com i seguenti materiali:
- File dell’opera sottotitolata in inglese (invio tramite Wetransfer);
- Biografia, filmografia e foto del regista;
- Nota del regista sull’opera;
- Lista completa dei dialoghi in inglese;
- N. 3 foto del film;
- Locandina del film;
- Trailer dell’opera della durata massima di un minuto.
Il Festival Internazionale del Cinema di San Giovanni potrà trasmettere questo materiale a terzi, ai fini della promozione del festival. Le immagini e i testi saranno utilizzati per anche per le pubblicazioni del festival (es. programmi proiezioni) e per i media online (canali social, testate giornalistiche on line) dove rimarranno disponibili senza limiti di tempo o territoriali. Ogni opera in concorso al Festival riceverà un attestato di partecipazione al termine dell’evento. I partecipanti possono utilizzare il laurel del Festival su tutti i materiali promozionali dell’opera (locandina, trailer, etc.).
I file e i supporti per la proiezione dovranno essere inviati entro il 14 Aprile 2024.
Tutte le opere dovranno avere i sottotitoli in inglese e in italiano.
La copia della preselezione dovrà essere identica a quella della selezione ufficiale.
4. Costi ed impegni
Il Festival prevede un’iscrizione di 50 euro per l’ingresso in preselezione. I costi della spedizione della copia fisica della pellicola in DVD sono a carico del partecipante.
Il Festival assicura la copia fisica della pellicola per il tempo di giacenza nell’evento.
Il Festival Internazionale del Cinema di San Giovanni salverà una copia di ogni opera nel proprio archivio, che verrà utilizzata per finalità di studio, escludendo qualsiasi forma di utilizzo commerciale.
5. Ospitalità
Per i registi in competizione è prevista l’ospitalità (vitto e alloggio) dal giorno precedente al giorno della proiezione della propria opera al giorno della premiazione. Per quanto riguarda i cortometraggi live action, le produzioni sono invitate a sostenere la partecipazione in presenza al Festival del protagonista dell’opera selezionata, al quale saremo lieti di offrire l’ospitalità (anche per esso vitto e alloggio).
6. Disposizioni Finali
La partecipazione al Festival comporta l’accettazione del presente regolamento.
É responsabilità di produttori, distributori o altri soggetti che presentano il film, garantire di essere legittimamente autorizzati ad iscrivere l’opera al festival. Per ogni eventuale contestazione sull’interpretazione del regolamento fa fede il testo originale in italiano.
Il direttore del Festival ha il diritto di dirimere tutti i casi non previsti dal presente regolamento, nonché di derogare al regolamento stesso in casi particolare e motivati.
Per ogni eventuale controversia è competente il Foro di Genova.

About us
Chez Thésse is a cultural association working in independent theater and cinema. Born in Genoa, with the aim of producing theatrical performances, short films, feature films and documentaries, creating synergies between different artists who lend their work in different disciplines.
As for film production, the projects of this collective have won recognitions in many national and international festivals.

Rosaspina is an artistic laboratory made up of a team of young professionals in the audiovisual industry. It sets its roots in Genoa, in Liguria, but counts on elements from all over Italy in its staff and aims at the national diffusion of its audiovisual products.

Artefix is a cultural association working mainly in the cinematographic field. Its peculiarity consists in having been created by young people for young people, offering them the means and skills for the realization of projects and the pursuit of objectives in the artistic field.

A place to think about a solution to the social problems that torment our society.
All this by offering and promoting projects with a relevant artistic content, capable of developing critical awareness and contributing to the cultural growth of the young public.
Theater
The Teatro San Giovanni Battista, home of the San Giovanni International Film Festival, is located in Genoa, in the Sestri Ponente district. It opens its doors in 1950 and since than the managements that have followed have been constantly engaged in the spreadig of theatrical culture in the neighborhood, with the creation of workshops, events and reviews, and in the projection of cinematographic films, so as to earn the title of Theater Cinema.
Lately, it has hosted high-level events, such as the show "Indagine su Alda Merini", dedicated to the poetess who died in 2009, starring Giorgia Trasselli, directed by Antonio Nobili. It has 300 seats, with the possibility of parking for those who come to attend the performances.

In 2018, he founded the artistic collective Chez Thésse, with which he began the production of short films, which led him to obtain national and international recognition in sector festivals.

He trained at the Paolo Grassi Theater Academy in Milan. Winner of the honorable mention for the performance as best actress in the TV series "Friendship Request" at the Apoxiomeno International Film Festival (2022).

Regulation
San Giovanni International Film Festival is organized by the cultural associations Chez Thésse, Rosaspina and Artefix, all operating in the independent cinema industry, in synergy with the Teatro San Giovanni Battista in Genoa. To these three organizations are added other associations, organizations and sponsors.
Goals:
The Festival aims to create a place where cinema can be a reason for interaction between young people, for meeting and exchanging ideas and projects among the participants, for the growth of their own cinematographic culture through interviews open to the public with professionals in the sector and where one can think of a resolution of the social problems that afflict society. All this by offering and promoting works with a relevant artistic content, capable of developing critical awareness and contributing to the cultural growth of the young public.
1. Official categories:
A. Fight against racism: international category of short films on the fight against racism;
B. Fight against bullying: international category of short films on the fight against bullying;
C. Fight against violence against women: international category of short films on the fight against violence against women;
D. Fight against homophobia: international category of short films on the fight against homophobia;
E. Fight against eating disorders: international category of short films on the fight against eating disorders;
F. Libero: international category of short films on any theme (comedy, adventure, thriller, Sci-Fi, romantic);
G. Free theme animation: international category of free theme animated shorts (comedy, adventure, thriller,
Sci-Fi, romantic);
H. Social themes animation: international category of animated short films on the themes described in categories A, B, C, D, E;
I. Thirty: international category of short films and documentaries whose directors have reached the age of thirty or are under thirty years of age;
J. Documentaries: international category of documentaries on social issues described in categories A, B, C, D, E.
Short films and documentaries must have a maximum duration of twenty minutes, opening and closing credits included.
The useful formats for screening are: MP4, AVI, MPEG (with file sending, only in case of admission to the official selection, via Wetransfer or other similar sites to the following email address: chezthesse@gmail.com) or DVD ( with sending of the same to the following address: Via Priano 7 / 2, 16153, Sestri Ponente, Genoa - Italy).
Groups of students made up of Italian and foreign middle and high schools (middle school and high school) are admitted to categories A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H and J. The films must be created by the students, in synergy with the teachers and with workers from the cinematographic sector called to collaborate with the institutes.

3. Selection of works
Conditions for admission to the selection.
The Festival will be held in Genoa from the 4th to the 18th of May 2024. The projects produced in the years 2022/2023 will be examined. Previously selected works at other festivals may be presented. For pre-selection, the deadline for sending material via the Filmfreeway platform is 28th February 2024. Registration must take place via the aforementioned platform, entering all the requested data and proceeding with the upload of the film. For more information, write to chezthesse@gmail.com.
The selection of the works will take place at the unquestionable judgment of the Artistic Direction, which will communicate the final results to the productions/distributions of the selected films no later than 21st March 2024. Once the communication has been made, the productions/distributions of the selected films will take care of sending to chezthesse@gmail.com the following materials:
- File of the work subtitled in English (sending via WeTransfer);
- Biography, filmography and photo of the director;
- Director's note;
- Complete list of dialogues in English language;
- N. 3 photos of the film;
- Poster
- Trailer (maximum duration 1 minute)

San Giovanni International Film Festival may transmit this material to third parties for the purpose of promoting the festival. The images and texts will also be used for festival publications (e. g. screening programmes) and for online media (social channels, online newspapers) where they will remain available without time or territorial limits. Each work in competition at the Festival will receive a certificate of participation at the end of the event. Participants can use the Festival laurel on all promotional materials of the work (poster, trailer, etc.).
The files and supports for the projection must be sent by April 14th 2024.
All works must have English and Italian subtitles.
The copy of the preselection must be identical to that of the official selection.
4. Costs and commitments
The Festival requires an entry fee of €50 for pre-selection entry. The costs of shipping the physical copy of the film on DVD are the responsibility of the participant.
The Festival ensures the physical copy of the film for the storage time in the event.
San Giovanni International Film Festival will save a copy of each work in its archives, which will be used for study purposes, excluding any form of commercial use.
5. Hospitality
For the competing directors, hospitality (food and accommodation) is provided from the day before the day of the screening of their work to the day of the award ceremony. As far as live action shorts are concerned, the productions may support the participation in presence of the protagonist of the selected project in the Festival, to whom we will be happy to offer hospitality (including food and accommodation).
6. Final Provisions
Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of these regulations.
It is the responsibility of producers, distributors or other subjects presenting the film to guarantee that they are legitimately authorized to submit the project at the festival. For any dispute on the interpretation of the regulation, the original text in Italian will prevail.
The director of the Festival has the right to settle all cases not covered by these regulations, as well as to derogate from the regulations in particular and justified cases.
For any controversy the Court of Genoa is competent.
